One of the current projects that Big Bang Games has been working is a platformer game for XNA on the Xbox 360. The game has still yet to be titled. Since everything is still in the works, we’ll just briefly explain the overall concept of the game, as well as what we are currently working on when it comes to the programming.
The game is tile-based, and follows a lot of the look and feel of a Mario style game. The story revolves around an unnamed turtle (have a suggestion? comment us). While the turtle goes through several levels, he tries to collect as much materials as possible to build himself weapons and armour for the increasing challenges of the following levels.
Currently we have 3 levels designed, and plan to eventually get around 20 levels in total.
For the upgrading system, the turtle can build all his armour (chest, helmet, shoes, gloves) which each one can either add life, increase speed, or increase jump height. However, the weapons are currently in progress. He has one of his weapons (rockets) which can shoot, but yet to obtain collision with enemies and walls. But besides that, his other 3 available weapons still need to be coded.
Lastly, one of the biggest programming sections that we are currently working on is the whole enemy class. Right now we have collision with still objects, but these objects still need to move, react with the levels, and react with the turtle and/or his weapons. This will probably take the longest, for we plan to have several different enemies that have different characteristics.
These few samples give you a little bit better idea of the game and where we are at. Don’t be surprised if in the final release of the game the artwork shown here changes.
If you have any suggestions or criticisms, just let us know, we would love to hear them.
*UPDATE: With the near release of Dead on Arrival, the production of this game has been briefly put on hold.

This is really cool dude. Did you do the graphics for the game as well? Can’t wait to see the collisions with enemies and interactions you will create.
Thanks. Yes, the graphics were all designed in Flash and edited in Photoshop.
It’d be nice to see this game finished, it has some potential. I think it could make you some money.
Plus it’d be awesome to have more than 1 game released by your studio
@Alex
Thanks Alex,
We have so many game ideas but not enough programmers and time, so if you happen to know anyone that is in game programming let us know.
