As we mentioned earlier, we are going to let you in on a new game we have been working on for the Xbox 360 Indie games. The game is a war-themed 3rd person shooter, combined with a tower defense system called Dead on Arrival.
Description:
You play as a tank trying to protect the wall from waves of enemy attacks. However, you’re not alone. With each enemy killed, you gain resources known as “Star Cost” to use in exchange to train allies to to help protect the oncoming force. With the choice of training gunners, grenadiers, or medics, it’s up to you to decide which ally is best for your strategy.
This full length game not only has a campaign of 30 total waves of enemies, but also includes the game type “Missions”, where you are put in a situation and have to defend against one long wave of enemies, as well as “Medals” which are an equivalent to Xbox 360’s achievements, and can be gained throughout the campaign and/or missions.
Our Current Progress:
With DOA, we have quite a lot done so far, but are mainly working on polishing the game. Better graphics, sound effects, audio, gui, etc.
The campaign so far has a total of 20 different and increasingly challenging waves out of the planned 30, and we currently have 5 missions finished, planning for a total of 10. We have so far 5 different types of enemies including soldiers, tanks, and helicopters. We have a few ideas of some more interesting and challenging enemies, but were still trying to figure out which ones would be best for the game.
The medal system is all set up and we have 24 different medals that can be achieved, as well as a screen off of the main menu where you can view and read the descriptions of the current medals achieved, and which ones still left to acquire. We plan to have unique images for each medal still.
One last thing that is in discussion right now is whether to only have 30 waves of enemies in total for the campaign, or have a easy, medium and hard difficulty campaign where each have 30 different waves with different amounts of enemies in each difficulty. Another alternative is to have the enemies weaker or stronger depending on the difficulty.

Wholy crap this game looks good so far. I honestly cant wait to try it out on my xbox. The medal system looks good, and the graphics are coming along nicely.
I’ve already got a couple of my buddies lined up waiting to download it and tell their friends about it.
Lookin good BBG!
